Job role 1:
Screenwriter
The Screenwriters job is to create a story, this can involve researching certain elements behind a story like the physical science of certain concepts.
They need to have an in depth understanding of traditional and non-traditional forms of narrative as well as people and the ways they react to any and all stimuli. you need to be able to work as part of a team and organised in case any revisions need to be made to the script, this includes meeting deadlines. A Screenwriter must also be prepared to take rejection, possibly a large amount of times before any of their ideas are accepted this also includes being able to be realistic about "their vision" and accept that some changes may have to be made that they don't agree with.

Potential problems in our production

  • Location problems- We might not be able to get the locations we really want for filming.
  • Cast and crew absences- Because of the small size of our group if anyone is absent then it could affect some of the roles that are "doubled up".
  • Equipment issues- Equipment that we use could be faulty or just plain not work.
  • Casting issues- Actors that we have chosen may not be right for the roles.
  • Footage loss- Some of the footage we record could be lost, meaning we have to film it again.
  • Weather- The change in weather could mean that our exterior scenes look vastly different between shots.
  • Time constraints- If we are too slow in either production or pre-production then we may not meet the deadline.
  • Sound- some of the foley, sound effects or music may seem out of place in our piece.

Contingency plans
  1. We could re-write the script to use a location that we can get access to.
  2. Make sure that any absences are reported to the group ASAP so as to allow us to plan around them.
  3. Make sure that all equipment is tested before the shoot and is handled correctly.
  4. Re-write the script so that the character suits the actor better, or choose someone that could perform the role better.
  5. Try to finish each filming session quickly while still maintaining a high level of quality.
  6. Make sure that we hit our deadlines.
